While still attending evening school, Minna started full-time work as a gofer in various departments of Nokia’s central administration. She became familiar with the different work cultures as she became acquainted with the people working in different departments. After getting straight ‘A’s at evening school, she qualified as an optician and trade technician. Continuous practical training also included supervisor’s courses in the wholesale & retail sector.
Over 20 years’ experience as a manager in the optical healthcare sector has given Minna an in-depth understanding of people. The combination of her specialist and managerial work was hectic in a rapidly changing sector during a period of strong growth. Minna was successful in getting the smaller teams of different businesses to work towards a common goal, for which Silmäasema awarded her an ‘Achiever of the Year’ certificate of honour.
Minna is good at listening, which gives her a deeper understanding of people’s differences. Whether dealing with a customer or a colleague, Minna has learned that trust is the basis for each person’s success. She became well-versed in the different leadership styles of a growing organisation, and their impact on corporate culture, strategy work, storytelling, facilitating and mentoring through practical work.
Training in Executive Coaching at Henley Business School Finland provided Minna with the skill set needed to support leadership. Studies in solution-oriented work guidance made Minna interested in coaching supervisor groups.
In her leisure time, Minna enjoys relaxing yoga and the rich experiences of scuba diving in foreign waters. Another of her passions is fast horseback riding in unspoiled countryside. Minna’s family consists of three “petrolheads” and a lady Rescue dog. In her role as BBI Group’s Executive Coach, Minna’s ability to put into words the thoughts of her coachees and to concentrate their minds produces real progress and results.
